EDVAP has been the industry standard suite of reconstruction and simulation programs used by motor vehicle safety researchers for over a decade. EDVAP includes five vehicle dynamics and graphics modules, each tailored to a specific need:
- Use EDCRASH to reconstruct the crash and determine the speeds and severity of impact.
- Use EDSMAC to simulate the crash, verifying and illustrating your reconstruction results.
- Use EDSVS to simulate the cause of a single vehicle loss of control.
- Use EDVTS to simulate the cause of a vehicle-trailer loss of control.
- Use EDCAD to merge your reconstruction or simulation results directly over a scaled accident site diagram.
Features
All EDVAP programs have the same menu-driven program design. The user responds to a series of questions regarding the vehicle(s) and accident site. The results are then displayed in a format requested by the user. Some of the more powerful capabilities include:
- Graphics and Animation - Color accident site drawings and vehicle trajectories plus a real-time history of vehicle motion.
- Integration - Inter-communication of data between programs allows merging of results from one program into another.
- Ease-of-use and Flexibility - Menu-driven user interaction for input, output and graphics; user-selected routing of results (including graphics to screen, printer or plotter); automatic loading of typical vehicle information; on-line help prompts.
