Introductory Workshops at the 2012 HVE Forum

February 27 - March 2, 2012 • New Orleans, LA

The Introduction to HVE & HVE-2D and the Introduction to HVE-CSI workshop series at the 2012 HVE Forum are designed to familiarize new users with the features and capabilities of their software for reconstructing crashes and loss-of-control scenarios. The workshops follow a basic hands-on approach to setting up and running a reconstruction or simulation event and then interpreting and presenting the results. All new users and beginner-level users looking for a general refresher course are encouraged to attend these workshops.

The Introduction to HVE & HVE-2D
workshops cover the following topics:

  • HVE & HVE-2D System Overview - Learn how to use the integrated editors to create and edit models and data sets of humans, vehicles and evironments, and also to set-up, run and review the results of your reconstructions and simulations.

  • Using EDCRASH - Learn how to determine vehicle speeds at impact and impact severity (delta-V) using momentum and damage-based analysis reconstruction methods.

  • Using EDSMAC & EDSMAC4 - Learn how to simulate vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-barrier crashes involving two or more vehicles.

  • Using EDSVS & EDVTS - Learn how to simulate loss-of-control scenarios that involve single or articulated vehicles.

The Introduction to HVE-CSI workshops
cover the following topics:

  • HVE-CSI System Overview - Learn how to use the integrated editors to create and edit models and data sets of vehicles, import a crash site image, and also to set-up, run and review the results of your reconstructions and simulations.

  • Using EDCRASH - Learn how to determine vehicle speeds at impact and impact severity (delta-V) using momentum and damage-based analysis reconstruction methods.

  • Using EDSMAC - Learn how to simulate vehicle-to-vehicle crashes involving two vehicles.
