3-D Stiffness Modeling Available In HVE Version 9

In HVE Version 9, DyMESH uses 3-dimensional stiffness coefficients that employ a third-order force vs. crush relationship with crush saturation. This new model allows the user to start with the nominal A,B model and then extend it to include the non-linear effects associated with severe crush.



Assigning Exterior 3-D Stiffness Coefficients • The enhanced Vehicle Exterior Stiffness dialog provides a Type selector to choose between editing the 2-D or the new 3-D stiffness modeling behavior. Individual coefficients are tuned with a user-editable Conversion Height that relates the existing A,B to the new A,B,C,D coefficients for the cubic equation representing Force vs. Crush. Additionally, the user may adjust Saturation and Maximum Crush values to further define the properties of their specific vehicle.
